Project Description: The Work consists of:

Rash Stadium: The Rash Stadium 100th Anniversary Renovations includes but is not limited to, the demolition and removal of the artificial turf, light poles, fencing, sidewalks, press box, score board and selected building demolition including doors, door frames, floor, walls, ceilings and Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical Systems. The work also includes but is not limited to, the replacement of the artificial field turf, field lighting, press box, chain link fencing, masonry wall, site concrete, repairs to the visitor concrete bleachers and renovation to both the Poynter field house and home team concrete bleachers. The renovation to Poynter Field house consists of new layout for the locker room, offices, training, restrooms and showers with new lockers (by others), flooring ceilings, doors and all Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical systems. The renovation to the home team concrete bleacher, consists of bleacher repairs, installing new aluminum bench seats and a limited number of plastic seats, new guard rails, press box, number and lettering, epoxy coatings and new layout for restrooms, concessions, dressing, training and storge areas to included new flooring, painting, ceilings and all Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical systems.

Shifley Park: The Shifley Park Renovations and additions includes but is not limited to, the demolition of the existing items associated with both the baseball and softball fields including but not limited to fences, backstops, bases, foul pole’s, dugouts, sidewalks, press box’s, scoreboards, support buildings and mechanical, plumbing and Electrical systems. The construction of a new Soccer press box with home team dressing rooms and the replacement of the artificial turf, constructing a hitting facility with locker rooms, and ticket booth. Also the construction of new baseball and softball fields including but not limited to Fencing, back stops with netting, dugouts, grandstands with press boxes, foul pole’s, score boards, field lighting, sprinkler systems, artificial turf, grasses and new parking lot with lighting.

The Work includes, but is not limited to selective demolition, trenching and backfilling, building demolition, site clearing, stormwater pollution prevention, lawns and grasses, earthwork, concrete sidewalk, termite control, aggregate bases, asphalt paving, concrete, curb and gutter site work, water line and appurtenances, subdrainage, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, surface drainage for site work, concrete structures for site work, nyloplast structures, chain-link fences and gates, pavement markings and striping, infilled synthetic turf system, cast-in-place concrete, self-leveling concrete floor underlayment, unit masonry assemblies, structural steel, steel deck, cold-formed metal framing, cold-formed metal trusses, metal fabrications, steel handrails and railings, rough carpentry, metal plate connected wood trusses, interior architectural woodwork, bituminous damp proofing, sheet waterproofing, spray polyurethane foam insulation and air barrier system, open cell spray polyurethane foam insulation, exterior insulation and finish systems, metal roof panels, soffits, sheet metal flashing and trim, firestopping, joint sealants, Steel doors and frames, access doors and frames, overhead coiling doors, aluminum windows, door hardware, glazing, gypsum sheathing, gypsum board assemblies, ceramic tile, acoustical panel ceilings, composition flooring, resilient wall base, linoleum tile floor coverings, modular carpeting, painting, high-performance coatings, visual display boards, toilet compartments, flagpoles, signs, post and panel signs, locker benches, fire protection specialties, protective covers, toilet and bath accessories, stainless-steel countertops and window trim, windscreens, athletic field equipment, football stadium LED video screen and multi-sports scoring, grandstand seating system, and clean-up and removal of construction debris.

Proposals will be received as follows below, prevailing time, on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the Owensboro Board of Education office at 450 Griffith Avenue, Owensboro, KY 42301, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

A prebid conference will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 10:00 AM, prevailing time, at the Owensboro Board of Education office at 450 Griffith Avenue, Owensboro, KY 42301. All bidders should plan on attending this meeting.

Two sets of the Bidding Documents may be obtained by contractors from Maco-Evansville Blue, 600 Court Street, Evansville, Indiana 47708 (812-464-8108), upon deposit of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars for each set of Documents. Additional sets may be purchased at a cost of Two Hundred Dollars per set, non-refundable. Checks covering deposit shall be made payable to the order of the Owensboro Public Schools. All mailing charges (non-refundable), if required, are to be arranged in advance with and paid directly to Maco-Evansville Blue with a separate check.

Electronic copies of the documents are available from Maco-Evansville Blue, 600 Court Street, Evansville, IN. (812-464-8108). Charges to obtain electronic copies are non-refundable and are to be arranged with, and paid directly to, Maco-Evansville Blue.

Deposits will be refunded to contractors who submit a bona fide proposal to the Owner (directly or through a prime contractor) and return the documents, in an acceptable and reusable condition within ten days of the opening of the bids.

Bid 010: Rash Stadium 100th Anniversary Renovations (due at 1:30pm)

Bid to include all work outlined in the contract documents for the renovation of Rash Stadium, Poynter Field House and Visitors’ Grandstand, and construction of a new Press Box including but not limited to selective demolition, field turf replacement, perimeter masonry wall replacement, site concrete, drainage, grandstand repairs, modifications, finishes, press box replacement and Poyner field house renovation, site utilities, man hole replacement, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, field lighting and new sound system.

Bid 020: Shifley Park Renovations (due at 2:30pm)

Base bid to include all work outlined in the contract documents for the renovation of Shifley Park Soccer Turf, Baseball Stadium, Softball Stadium & construction of a new Ticket Booth including but not limited to selective demolition, field turf replacement, site drainage replacement, site concrete, new baseball and softball fields, grandstand, dugouts with field storage facilities and fencing, backstops, netting systems at backstop, site utilities, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, relocation of field lighting and new sound system and data systems. The base bid does not include either the new soccer dressing room facility or the new hitting facility or associated utilities and earthwork including exterior work within 5’ of the exterior walls.

BID 021: Shifley Park Renovations – New Soccer Dressing Room Facility (Due at 2:30pm)

Base bid to include all work outlined in the contract documents to construct a standalone soccer dressing room facility including exterior work within 5’ of the exterior walls, including but not limited to site work and drainage, site concrete, utilities, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, new sound system and data systems. Front of facility must be complete into to install the new field turf with no work remaining that would put construction works on the new field turf.

BID 022: Shifley Park Renovations – New Hitting Facility (Due at 2:30pm)

Base bid to include all work outline in the contract documents to construct a standalone Hitting facility including exterior work within 5’ of the exterior walls, including but not limited to site work and drainage, site concrete, utilities, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, new sound system and data systems. Front of facility must be complete to install the new field turf with no work remaining that would put construction work on the new field turf.

Combination bid to include all work outline in the contract documents to construct the entire project (Rash & Shifley including Soccer & Hitting Facility including all work in Bid 010, Bid 020, bid 021 and bid 022.
