NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Notice is hereby given that the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation by and through its Board of School Trustees will receive sealed proposals until 2:00 P.M. (ET), on May 21, 2020 and not thereafter, in the Board Meeting Room, located at 113 N. Jackson Street, Huntingburg, Indiana 47542, at which time and place all proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Said sealed proposals shall be for the furnishing of all materials and the performance of all labor according to the drawings and specifications prepared by Jack Kinkel and Son Architects, FOR Southwest Dubois County School Corporation 2020 Controlled Entrances for Holland and Huntingburg Elementary Schools.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 10:00 AM (ET) at Huntingburg Elementary School, 501 West Sunset Drive, Huntingburg, Indiana, and following thereafter at Holland Elementary School, 408 N. Meridian Street, Holland, Indiana.
Copies of the specifications, drawings, and proposal form will be furnished to reliable contractors applying at the office of MACO, Evansville-Blue, 600 Court Street, Evansville, Indiana 47708 (812)464-8108. A non-refundable check or money order for FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) payable Maco Evansville Blue is required for each set of bidding documents. It is mandatory that each prime contract bidder shall obtain one (1) complete set of bidding documents.
All proposals shall be made out and submitted on a bid proposal form attached to a current General Form No 96 (can be found at http://www.in.gov/icpr/webfile/formsdiv/index.htm State Form Description #52414), a bid form prescribed by the State Board of Accounts. Any bid that exceeds a sum of $100,000.00 must be accompanied by a Contractor’s Financial Statement attached to the General Form 96 as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts. One General Form No. 96 will be required from any one contractor for one or more bids. All proposals shall be firm without escalator clauses.
The proposal must be accompanied by a certified check made payable to the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid or an acceptable bidder’s surety bond made payable to Southwest Dubois County School Corporation, in a SPECIFIC AMOUNT of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Indiana. The certified check or bidder’s bond shall be a guarantee that said bidder will, if the contract is awarded to him, execute within ten (10) days from the acceptance of his proposal a contract for the work bid upon, and furnish acceptable surety bonds as set forth in the specifications. However, if the contractor has not executed the contract within the ten (10) day period, or has failed to furnish acceptable surety bonds as indicated, the Board of School Trustees reserves the right to award the contract to the next higher or best bidder, and declare forfeiture of the defaulting bidder’s bid security .
All state, municipal and local licensing requirements must be met prior to submitting bid.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
The Board of School Trustees of the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any defects or informalities if deemed by it to be for the best interest of said Board.
