1.03 POTENTIAL BIDDERS

A. Notice is hereby given that the Warrick County School Corporation will receive sealed bid proposals at the Warrick County School Corporation, 300 East Gum Street, Boonville, Indiana in the Conference Room, first floor, for the furnishing of all materials and labor for the Warrick County School Corporation 2020 Summer Projects. Bids will be opened and read publicly after bids are received.

B. Project: Warrick County School Corporation 2020 Summer Projects.

C. Project Description: HVAC replacements and interior renovations are planned for six (6) schools. The proposed scope of work for each school is as follows:

Boonville High School
• Remove (2) existing cast iron boilers, tie-in existing boiler system into (2) remaining boilers.
• Replace two (2) existing gymnasium gas-fired ventilation units with new gas-fired RTU’s located on adjacent lower roof.
• These new RTU units shall also feed existing coaches offices, weight rooms, and locker areas.

Castle High School

• Replace approximately 94 interior and exterior doors, frames and hardware.
• Prepare a first floor opening in the southeast corner of the Gym for the installation of a new elevator. The purchasing and installation of the elevator is not in this project’s scope of work. This project’s contractor will be expected to coordinate with the elevator contractor on installation.
• Install (2) new security roll down gates in the pool area to close off the gallery and hallway.
• Correct the washed-out area under the bleachers at the football field.

Castle High School Air House

• Replace supply plenum insulated panel floor.
• Replace supply and return fans.
• Repair energy recovery duct opening.
• Repair damper linkages and replace actuators.
• Integrate airflow tracking control into control system.
• Clean interior of air house.
• Clean coils, drain pans, dampers, and blenders.
• Remove non-functioning energy recovery system (possible project alternate).

Castle North Middle School

• Replace eight (8) horizontal classroom unit ventilators with five (5) heat pump RTUs mounted on roof. Provide an alternate bid to replace the existing (8) horizontal unit ventilators with (8) new horizontal unit ventilators.
VCT floor, interior and exterior wall patching and painting in (2) classrooms where existing unit ventilators are removed.
• New carpet tiles, interior and exterior wall patching and painting in (3) classrooms where existing unit ventilators are removed.
• New lay-in ceilings in all (5) classrooms.

Tecumseh High School

• Replace four (4) EDPAC vertical heat pumps with similar units.
• Replace four (4) EDPAC vertical heat pumps with ground-mounted heat pump RTUs. RTUs will be installed on concrete pads with bollards to protect the units.
• Replace six (6) EDPAC vertical heat pumps in the stage and auditorium areas with two (2) heat pump RTUs on roof.
• Replace two (2) EDPAC vertical heat pumps in the library.
• Exterior wall opening modifications to accommodate new supply and return ductwork at existing louver locations.
• Infill existing openings where HVAC louvers were removed or blank off back side of louver on third floor.
• The Warrick County School Corporation will provide the new vertical heat pump units to the contractor.

Tennyson Elementary School

• Replace five (5) EDPAC vertical heat pumps with ground-mounted heat pump RTUs. RTUs will be installed on concrete pads with bollards to protect the units.
• Exterior wall opening modifications to accommodate new supply and return ductwork at existing louver locations.

Yankeetown Elementary School

• Replace five (5) horizontal classroom unit ventilators with similar units.
• Interior wall patching as required around new unit ventilators.
• Exterior wall modifications as required for new unit ventilator louver.
• New carpet tile flooring and vinyl cove base in the (5) classrooms with new unit
ventilators.

D. Bid Documents for a Stipulated Sum contract may be obtained from Maco-Evansville Blue, 600
Court Street, Evansville, Indiana, 47708 at the Bidder’s cost. No partial sets of Plans and
Specifications will be distributed. If mailing is required, mailing costs shall be paid for by the
Bidder. The Bidder shall refer to the Instructions to Bidders for additional bidding procedures
and requirements.

E. Bidders will be required to provide Bid Security in the form of a certified check or Bid Bond of a
sum no less than five percent (5%) of the Bid Amount made payable to the Warrick County
School Corporation. A Bid Bond shall be executed by a surety company authorized to do
business in the State of Indiana. The certified check or bidder’s bond shall be a guarantee that
the said bidder will, if the contract is awarded to him/her, execute within ten (10) days from the
acceptance of his/her proposal a contract for the work bid upon, and furnish acceptable surety
bonds as set forth in the specifications. However, if the contractor has not executed the
contract within the ten (10) day period, or has failed to furnish acceptable surety bonds as
indicated, the Owner reserves the right to award the contract to the next most responsive and
responsible bidder, and the security will be forfeited.

F. Bids shall be properly and completely submitted on the latest version of Contractor’s Bid for
Public Bidding Form No. 96, as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts for the State of
Indiana, in addition to the Bid Form included in the Project Manual.
G. A Financial Statement is a required attachment to Form 96.

H. All bidders must submit copies of drug testing and background checks programs in compliance
with Warrick County School Corporation’s Specifications And Conditions For Required Drug
Testing and Background Checks Policy.

I. All bidders must submit E-Verify Affidavit pursuant to I.C. 22-5-1.7.

J. Offers are required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of (60) days
after submission.

K. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers.

L. The drawings and specifications will be available on Friday, April 10, 2020.

M. There will be a Pre-Bid Meeting at the Warrick County School Corporation Administration
Building on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at 8:00 A.M. Central Time in the first floor conference
room. Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled meeting time to allow for the
required visitor check-in process.

N. Bids will be received until 10:00 A.M. Central Time on Friday, April 24, 2020.

1.04 LAWS AND REGULATIONS

A. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to
be observed under the contract. All bidders must comply with Indiana Code amendment House
Enrolled Act No. 1019. All bidders must conform to the anti-discrimination provisions of the
Indiana law.

B. All bidders must be qualified to do work in the State of Indiana pursuant to I.C. 4-13.6-4 and
must show compliance.
