NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Notice is hereby given that the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation by and through its Board of School Trustees will receive sealed proposals until 2:00 p.m., local time, on April 9th, 2020 and not thereafter, in the Office of School Facilities, Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, 951 Walnut Street, Evansville, Indiana 47713.
Opening will be open to the public. Said sealed proposals shall be for the furnishing of all materials and the performance of all labor according to the drawings and specifications prepared by Jack R. Kinkel & Sr. Architect/Engineer, FOR THE NORTH JR. HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA ADDITION PROJECT 2020 located at 15325 Highway 41 South Evansville, Indiana 47725.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled on March 19th, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. on site (cafeteria).
Copies of the specifications, drawings, and proposal form will be furnished to reliable contractors applying at the office of Maco, Evansville-Blue, 600 Court Street, Evansville, Indiana 47708 (812)464-8108. A check or money order payable to the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation is required for each set of bidding documents. It is mandatory that each prime contract bidder shall obtain one (1) complete set of bidding documents. The deposit will be a total of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($250.00) which will be refunded in full if the contractor submits a bid and returns the drawings and specifications within four (4) days of bid date.
All proposals shall be made out and submitted on a bid proposal form attached to a current General Form No 96 (can be found at http://www.in.gov/icpr/webfile/formsdiv/index.htm State Form Description #52414), a bid form prescribed by the State Board of Accounts. Any bid that exceeds a sum of $5,000.00 must be accompanied by a Contractor’s Financial Statement attached to the General Form 96 as prescribed by the State Board of Accounts. One General Form No. 96 will be required from any one contractor for one or more bids. All proposals shall be firm without escalator clauses.
The proposal must be accompanied by a certified check made payable to the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid or an acceptable bidder’s surety bond made payable to Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, in a SPECIFIC AMOUNT of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Indiana. The certified check or bidder’s bond shall be a guarantee that said bidder will, if the contract is awarded to him, execute within ten (10) days from the acceptance of his proposal a contract for the work bid upon, and furnish acceptable surety bonds as set forth in the specifications. However, if the contractor has not executed the contract within the ten (10) day period, or has failed to furnish acceptable surety bonds as indicated, the Board of School Trustees reserves the right to award the contract to the next higher or best bidder.
All local licensing requirements must be met prior to submitting bid (Building Commissioner #812-436-7867).
Inclusion of drug policy is mandatory with proposal.
All persons intending to submit a bid with EVSC must comply with MBE/WBE utilization and E-Verification policy and procedures as outlined in the specifications.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
The Board of School Trustees of the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any defects or informalities if deemed by it to be for the best interest of said Board.
